About:
This video was created as a tribute to one of my favourite places on the planet, Sydney. The city has a very peaceful and clean feel and despite the fact it has over 5,000,000 inhabitants, manages to create the feel of a small community. This sense of well-being and security is a key theme I wanted to highlight with the creation of this video.
Creative Process:
I spent slightly over a month in different parts of the country, with the majority spent in and around Sydney. During my time in the city I would capture constant videos of every-day life, from train rides to skyscrapers and parks. I ended up with over 400 different clips recorded, these 6 second clips were meant to capture normal every-day scenes.
Once these clips had been recorded, the next step was the selection process. I wanted to choose videos that were very pleasing to look at, without leaving the ordinary theme. As such I settled on suburban streets, city beaches and views from our apartment.
Final result:
Overall, I am very pleased with the way it turned out. I believe I captured the environment and key features I wanted to show correctly. The video has sense of life and captures the ambiance of the Utopian city as intended.
